The Best Bidet Toilet Combos of 2024
The "bidet toilet combo", aka "integrated bidet toilet" or "full bidet unit" is a single unit that includes the bidet seat and the toilet. In many cases these bidet toilets do not look like your typical toilet with a tank.
They generally have a low profile, streamlined, modern shape. And they do amazing things, like wash and clean you with warm water, help with constipation and other health issues, dry you and get rid of waste, just like a regular toilet. Some bidet toilets have built in sterilization, nightlights, sensors that will open and close the lid, multiple wash settings, auto-flush and do much more.
While bidet toilets use water and electricity to wash you thoroughly, their impact on the environment is actually much lighter than a lifetime of consuming tons of toilet paper. Our picks for best bidet toilet combos of 2024 adhere to the highest standards when it comes to eco-friendliness as well as performance and style.
As far as performance goes, in theory you can get most of the same bidet features with a regular toilet and a separate bidet toilet seat. But adding on a bidet toilet seat usually means there are visible hoses and connectors. Some people prefer to have all these hoses and connections hidden.
With a bidet toilet combo unit you do not have to think about compatibility between the bidet seat and the toilet. Usually when purchasing a bidet seat for an existing toilet this can be an issue and some measurements must be taken to make sure that the bidet seat and the toilet will fit together. For a full bidet unit there is no issue as the unit was designed to work together and look great.
The only measurement that you will need to take will be for the rough-in, and most integrated bidet units use a 12 inch rough-in, which is the standard for most modern bathrooms. Older homes may have a 10 inch rough-in, so you should definitely check first before buying.
You will also need a grounded electrical outlet close to the toilet. Most bidet toilet combo units have a 3-4 foot electrical cord. If you do not have one and electrician should be able to easily install one for you.
Full integrated bidet toilets look really modern and clean, and bring a "wow" factor to your bathroom, and that makes them an obvious upgrade.
Bidet toilets have come a long way and are becoming increasingly popular as we continue to see more of them being showcased in smart, modern bathrooms. Here are our favorite integrated bidet toilets for 2023:
Toto Neorest® AS & Toto Neorest® RS - Best Toto Bidet Toilet Combo for 2024
We call this the Best Toto Bidet Toilet Combo because Toto is really in a class of its own. Toto Neorests are not cheap but...you get what you pay for.
They are beautiful and extremely well-made with the highest level of R+D behind every possible design feature. Toto is at the pinnacle of bidet toilet design, with numerous proprietary features that make your life easier and better, and make them stand out as industry leaders, employing cutting edge Japanese technology. In Fall 2023, TOTO released upgraded versions of their popular NEOREST RH + AH models, allowing for easier differentiation. The TOTO NEOREST RS features softer rounded curves, while the TOTO NEOREST AS has a more linear design.
Both models have:
- TORNADO FLUSH
- Dual Flush, 1.0 + 0.8 GPF
- Heated Seat
- Seamless Seat
- Auto-Open and Close
- Soft Nightlight
- ADA Compliant
- Universal Height
- Warm Air Dryer
- 4 user presets
- Made of Vitreous China and High Quality Plastic (seat, lid and side panel)
- 12" rough-in
- Back-up Manual Flush (for power failures)
The NEOREST AS sprays E-WATER+ on the wand, in the bowl and under the seat, while the NEOREST RS sprays E-WATER+ on the wand and in the bowl only.
The NEOREST AS has a metal stick-style remote, while the NEOREST RS has a plastic block-style remote.
Otherwise the features are the same.
These models look almost the same as the older AH + RH models, however TOTO is now differentiating the designs more than before, with some changes:
1. The remote on the NEOREST® RS is made of a high quality plastic and is similar to a conventional block-style remote, while the remote on the NEOREST AS is the same 2 sided, more streamlined and made of metal, just like the previous AH model.
2. The NEOREST AS automatically sprays EWATER®+ under the toilet seat, as well as the on the bowl and the wand after each use. The RS only sprays EWATER®+ in the bowl and on the wand after each use, just like the older RH + AH models.
3. Both the AS and the RS models have a 4-user preset function.
4. The seats on the AS and RS are "seamless", minimizing the gap between the seat and the bowl, where dirt and dust can collect.
Tornado Flush® is a powerful centrifugal rinsing flush that maximizes cleaning. The Cefiontect® ceramic glaze is TOTO's patented super-smooth permanent glazing that prevents debris from sticking to surfaces. Ewater+® is a an electrolyzed water that is a proven disinfectant. Premist® automatically sprays water over the surface of the inner toilet bowl before every use. Due to the ceramic’s hydrophilic nature, waste washes away more easily. Less dirt generally sticks to moist ceramic than dry ceramic.
Ewater+® and Premist® features work together with the Tornado Flush® and Cefiontect® ceramic glaze to keep the bowl cleaner for longer. Less harsh cleaning chemicals needed and less time and energy spent cleaning your Toto NEOREST® than you would spend on another bidet toilet integrated unit.
Just to make your choice more challenging, Toto makes some very popular beautiful Bidet Toilet Combo designs based on their most popular conventional toilet designs integrated with their high-performance Washlets (Toto's name for their bidet toilet seats). These units are called TOTO's WASHLET+® (Washlet Plus) collection.
The AQUIA IV WASHLET®+ comes in a two-piece design with a skirted base and a dual flush design with auto-flush option. The flush on the Aquia IV has recently been improved for 2023, to make it even more powerful than previous versions. The NEXUS WASHLET®+ is a one-piece single flush toilet with a skirted base and beautiful curved shape and auto flush option. Toto's super popular DRAKE WASHLET®+ is a two-piece model with a powerful flush, auto-flush available. All of these designs can be purchased with Toto's most luxury, full-featured Washlets, the S7A and the S7 (the latest models that have replaced the previous S550e and the S500e models).
What is the difference between getting a Toto Washlet+ and buying the Washlet and toilet separately, you ask? If you add a Toto Washlet® to a separate toilet (even a Toto toilet) there will be visible connections. If you have a Toto® toilet that is "WASHLET®+ Ready" (it has a hole/channel at the rear of the bowl), you can add a T40 model Washlet (cord comes out of the back, rather than the side) when you are ready to upgrade your toilet to a WASHLET®+. With the WASHLET+ bidet toilet combo units you will not have any visible hoses and the integration between bidet seat and toilet is seamless. The cord even runs through behind the unit for a very clean look.
You can choose between and One-Piece and a Two-Piece toilet depending on the model that you prefer. A two-piece toilet will have a separation between the tank and the toilet, vs a one-piece, which is one continuous unit. Some people feel that a one-piece toilet is easier to clean. But with a two-piece toilet it will be lighter and therefore easier to move and install in your bathroom.
Toto uses a rimless design on most of its Washlet+ toilets making it easy to clean, along with the Tornado Flush®, Cefiontect® Glaze, you should notice that your Washlet®+ bidet toilet combo unit stays clean for longer than a regular toilet would.
So if you have the budget for it and you want the tankless modern look, you will love to have a TOTO NEOREST® for your bathroom. If you prefer having a bidet toilet that still looks like a conventional toilet, but has all the features and performance of the best TOTO WASHLET®, then a WASHLET®+ is perfect for you, and they are quite a bit less expensive than the NEORESTS.
When it comes down to it, everything that TOTO does is done extremely well. With any TOTO integrated unit you simply can't go wrong.
